Hi, we’re Amalia and Jenna Riess, the wife-and-wife team behind The Butterfly Effect Weddings. We plan and design weddings filled with meaning, beauty, and genuine connection. As brides ourselves, we know exactly how exciting and sometimes overwhelming the journey to “I do” can feel. Our purpose is to make the process effortless and joyful, so you can focus on what truly matters: celebrating your love.

Our story began with our own destination wedding in Germany, where every detail reflected who we are and what we value intention, emotion, and authenticity. That experience showed us how a thoughtfully planned wedding can feel transformative. It inspired us to help other couples create days that feel just as personal and unforgettable.

Amalia has a background in Hospitality Management and Business from James Madison University and began her career in weddings back in 2013. After several years in corporate advertising, she followed her heart back to event planning, blending creativity with seamless organization to craft memorable celebrations.

Jenna holds a degree in Fashion Merchandising from Marist College, where she specialized in event planning, promotion, and design. With over six years of experience in the home and lifestyle industry, she brings a designer’s eye for detail and a gift for turning spaces into reflections of each couple’s unique story.

Together, Amalia & Jenna combine artistry and precision to plan weddings that feel effortless, timeless, and filled with love. Whether you’re dreaming of an intimate elopement or a grand destination celebration, we’re here to guide you through every step with empathy, creativity, and genuine care.

The name “The Butterfly Effect” comes from our belief that even the smallest details can create lasting impact. A quiet glance, a handwritten note, a song that starts at just the right moment these are the touches that make a wedding unforgettable. Just like the Butterfly Effect has led us here.
